The inception of this remarkable venture traces back to 1979 when Phil and Charlotte Carter laid the foundation. Their legacy lives on, carried forth by their daughter Jan Boydstun (The Gadget Gal). Reflecting on the past, Jan recounts her initial involvement, a seemingly fleeting four-month commitment that forever transformed her life. 

Now, 35 years later, Kitchen Kitchen remains a testament to the true essence of a family business. Jan, accompanied by husband Gary and their three sons, has not only nurtured her parents’ success but has expanded it, imbuing it with her infectious smile, laughter, and a warm demeanor that resonates with patrons and staff alike.

In 2009, the legacy was tangibly etched into the store’s narrative with the introduction of a kitchen in the new location. A mural painted in 1989, paying homage to Jan’s parents, adorns the wall – a testament to the business’s heart and soul. This kitchen not only symbolizes tribute but radiates warmth, where cooking classes and bespoke private events unfold. Guests curate their culinary journey, from appetizers to desserts, amidst an ambiance that bridges generations.
