The legendary Nancy Sinatra, renowned singer, actress, and local icon, will grace the streets of Palm Canyon Drive as the “Special Guest Star” of the 32nd Annual Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade on Saturday, Dec. 7. Known for hits like “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’,” “Sugar Town,” and “Bang Bang,” Sinatra brings a storied legacy and personal connection to the Coachella Valley as the daughter of Frank Sinatra, one of the area’s most iconic celebrity residents.
A longtime supporter of Palm Springs’ cultural heritage, Sinatra is among the leading advocates for the restoration of the historic Plaza Theatre, a centerpiece of downtown Palm Springs.
Adding to the star-studded lineup, this year’s parade will feature the Palm Springs Fire Department’s Peer Support K9, Ranger, as the “Canine Grand Marshal.” Celebrity Grand Marshals include Matt Sorum, former Guns N’ Roses drummer, and Turner Classic Movies host Dave Karger. Joining them are Community Grand Marshals Kelly Golightly, a beloved Palm Springs style influencer, and Coachella Valley Firebirds broadcasters Grant Fuhr, an NHL Hall of Famer, and Gino LaMont, a veteran local news anchor. Actress and Palm Springs resident Madchen Amick, known for Riverdale and Twin Peaks, will serve as Honorary Grand Marshal.
This magical parade, the city’s hallmark holiday celebration, begins at 5:45 p.m. and draws over 100,000 attendees annually. Spectators can expect dazzling lights, vibrant marching bands, larger-than-life holiday balloons, and the beloved Santa Claus, with acclaimed journalist Hank Plante emceeing the festivities.
