Intersect Palm Springs Art + Design Returns for a Bold Fourth Edition During Modernism Week

Each February, the desert becomes a global crossroads for creativity, and in 2026, Intersect Palm Springs Art + Design is poised to raise the bar once again. Returning to the Palm Springs Convention Center from February 12–16, 2026, the Coachella Valley’s premier contemporary art and design fair will unveil its largest and most ambitious edition to date—timed, as always, with the city’s iconic Modernism Week.

Now in its fourth year, Intersect Palm Springs has firmly established itself as a must-attend destination for collectors, curators, and cultural tastemakers. The fair will bring together an expanded roster of international, national, and regional galleries, presenting a dynamic mix of modern and contemporary art across media, from painting and sculpture to photography, digital practice, and immersive installation.

More than a traditional art fair, Intersect Palm Springs has become known for its curated experiences and intellectually rich programming. Attendees can expect guided tours, artist-led conversations, panels, and site-specific activations designed to spark dialogue and deepen engagement with both art and design.

Where Art Meets Light, Technology, and Activism

The 2026 edition introduces a compelling new thematic focus: The Intersections of Technology, Light, and Art. Through a series of exhibitions, installations, and talks, the fair will explore how creative practice is evolving in response to rapid technological change—and how artists are using new tools to address social, environmental, and cultural issues.

Highlights include:

  • The Intersection of Art, Light & Technology, a seminar series examining emerging creative technologies and their cultural impact.

  • Art, Light & Technology Activation, a special exhibition curated by Sharissa Iqbal, featuring innovative works that merge digital processes with sensory experience.

  • East × West, a collaborative exhibition uniting the Pratt Institute (New York) and California College of the Arts, bridging artistic education across coasts.

  • A California Collective, spotlighting the next generation of galleries and groundbreaking artistic voices.

  • Art as a Catalyst, a focused exhibition by internationally acclaimed artist Paula Crown, addressing art’s role in social and environmental change.

  • Marilyn Turns 100, presented by Melissa Morgan Fine Art, featuring iconic photographs of Marilyn Monroe by Lawrence Schiller, who will be in attendance.

  • Intersect Artist Studio, a platform for curated solo presentations by artists representing their own work.

Design and architecture also take center stage, with dedicated programming examining the legacy of modernism and its lasting influence on the Coachella Valley’s distinctive aesthetic.

Celebrating the Art Community

A signature moment of the fair will be the Intersect Palm Springs Art + Design Awards, honoring individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the region’s cultural landscape. Past recipients include acclaimed artists Gerald Clarke and Ryan Campbell, underscoring the fair’s commitment to recognizing both local impact and artistic excellence.

“This will be our most ambitious production to date,” says Tim von Gal, CEO of Intersect Art & Design. “Presenting during Modernism Week allows us to connect the world’s most exciting galleries with passionate collectors and design aficionados from around the globe. Intersect Palm Springs has truly become a must-attend event for those who value creativity, innovation, and community.”

Two Landmark Fairs, One Cultural Hub

In 2026, the Palm Springs Convention Center will once again host two major international events side by side:

  • Intersect Palm Springs Art + Design: February 12–16, 2026

  • Palm Springs Modernism Show: February 13–17, 2026 (produced by Dolphin Promotions)

Together, the fairs create an unparalleled cultural moment, transforming Palm Springs into one of the most vibrant art and design destinations in the world.

With its blend of global galleries, forward-thinking exhibitions, and cutting-edge discourse, Intersect Palm Springs Art + Design 2026 promises not just a showcase of art—but a reflection of where creativity is headed next.
